How do you know you’re in the right hands with Holmes Medical Training’s instructors?
All of Holmes Medical Training’s instructors have worked as international medical doctors or first aid responders. This means that each of our instructors has not only completed Holmes Medical Training’s rigorous trainer certification for the Ottawa area, they have saved the lives of others using the same techniques as our students learn in their courses.
Lindsay was passionate about first aid throughout her childhood in Ottawa. After receiving her formal education and first aid instructor training, Lindsay traveled to British Columbia, where she worked as a safety officer in remote logging camps. She honed her first aid skills while conducting emergency patient transportation and helicopter evacuations from the remote site, where she was known for her expertise in performing first aid procedures in the field.
Lindsay turned her first-hand knowledge of first aid emergencies into an innovative educational approach, and created Holmes Medical Training as its vehicle. She has now successfully taught over 1500 students over 4 years as Holmes Medical Training’s Lead First Aid Instructor. Lindsay is known for her cheerful and energetic instructor style that creates enthusiasm in the classroom.
Dr. Roustom grew up in Montreal, where he decided that his vocation was to help save lives. He received his degree as a physician in 2012, and enhanced his education with several post-graduate certifications in medical communications. Anas is passionate about sharing knowledge and experience of medical emergencies through first aid courses and helping others save lives. In the classroom, Anas explains emergency medical conditions in a simple and easy-to-understand manner, but sourced for a wealth of first-hand knowledge, such as when he:
- Provided first aid care to athletes at the FIFA World Cup in 2013
- Performed CPR on many casualties
- Triaged burns and multiple trauma casualties
- Managed multiple head injuries
Dr. Ali was born and raised in Ottawa where she first took interest in helping others. After graduating from medical school, she trained in a world class trauma center at Rashid Hospital, performed triage, and worked in the emergency ward. Her ability to grasp and use theoretical knowledge of first aid and human pathophysiology developed keenly over her time as a practicing medical professional.
During her spare time, Abby has been honoured with awards for her enthusiastic and engaging public speaking. She decided to combine this skill with her vast experience in emergency and first aid maneuvers, and become a first aid instructor. Abby now has over 4 years of experience as a first aid instructor, and over 3 years of experience as a first aid officer, making her an invaluable addition to the Holmes Medical Training team.
